Privacy Policy

MuscleKeep

MuscleKeep is developed and operated by an individual developer ("we," "us," or "the developer"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the MuscleKeep app (the "App") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The App is distributed in the United States only.

1. Information We Collect

CategoryWhat it isWhere it's stored
AccountA device-anchored account identifier — no name, email, or phone number required. Because it's tied to your device rather than your identity, we treat this as pseudonymous data, not fully anonymous.Supabase (cloud, US region)
Tracking dataDaily protein intake (grams), body weight, height, goal weight and targets, medication type (e.g., which GLP-1 you selected), workout schedule days, favorite foods, symptom check-in answers, injection log entries (the fact, time, and site of an injection, and whether your dose was increased — never the dose amount itself), strength-training completions, your daily score, and paywall interaction eventsOn-device (SQLite) and synced to your device-anchored cloud account (Supabase, US region)
Health screening & dosageYour raw answers to health screening questions and any injection dosage you logDevice only — never transmitted to our servers
Apple Health dataProtein intake, only if you turn on Apple Health import in Care → Logging optionsStored as part of your account data once imported (on-device and synced, same as tracking data above)
Purchase statusWhether you have an active Premium subscription (via RevenueCat)RevenueCat (US)
Usage analyticsIf you choose to turn on usage analytics (off by default, in Care → Logging options), we collect screen views and feature-usage events via PostHog. No health values, scores, or personal identifiers are included, and we configure our analytics not to derive location from or retain IP addresses — though which screens you view may still indirectly suggest usage habits.PostHog (US)

We do not collect: your real name, phone number, home address, or payment card details. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card information.

2. Health Screening Answers and Dosage Stay on Your Device

Your raw answers to symptom/health screening questions, and any medication dosage you record, are stored only in the App's local database on your device. They are never sent to our servers or to any third party. If the App detects a pattern that may warrant medical attention, it will recommend you contact a healthcare provider — the App never adjusts, suggests, or comments on your dosage. The fact and date of injections does sync — dose amounts are never recorded anywhere.

3. Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you choose to enable Apple Health integration, the App reads protein-related nutrition entries you've logged in Apple Health so you don't have to enter them twice. This is off by default and only activates if you turn it on in Care → Logging options.

Health data obtained through HealthKit will not be used for advertising, marketing, or other use-based data mining purposes, and will not be sold to third parties or data brokers.

4. How We Use Information

5. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties except:

If we receive a legal request, we will disclose only what we are legally required to and, where lawful, will notify affected users.

6. Service Providers

Each provider processes data only to provide their service to us, is required to protect it with at least the same level of protection described in this policy, and may not use it for their own purposes.

7. Your Rights and Choices

8. Uninstalling vs. Deleting Your Account

Uninstalling the App does not delete your synced data. Because accounts are device-anchored with no name or email, we cannot locate your records after you uninstall — please delete your account in the App (Care → Account) before uninstalling.

9. Cookies / Advertising

The App does not use advertising and does not use tracking cookies or advertising identifiers.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from users under 18.

11. Data Retention and International Access

Data is retained while your account exists and deleted upon account deletion. The developer operates from Japan and may access data to run the service.

If a breach affecting your data occurs, we will notify you as required by the FTC Health Breach Notification Rule.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the App before they take effect. The latest version will always be available in the App and on this page.
